Tall Teak Teal on a Tea Leaf

Tall Teak Teal on a Tea Leaf
tearing everything apart
Laconic Lily mentioned your Brittle attitude
but it was only a Canard

you swam in the budding hours of the morning
just before the sun had risen
just before the neigbours would be able to see your naked bodies
in the lake
and then you went to the shore
with
a fig, a fin and a fib in the filter tip

in her mouth
in your lungs
in her veins
and in your brain

you remember coughing and thinking
“what if I were silver-tongued
then I would always speak my mind“
but you weren’t so you held back the thoughts in the moonlight

you had a pinchy pen name, which was Yoyo Alkyt
and she was your perky pen pal – nicknamed Alfred
you were writing all those letters without Kid Gloves
making up stories, telling tall tales and reading comics
one was about an elegant elephant on a moonlight walk
with an ewe on the back
but while sitting there the bonsai tree crashed
underneath the weight of her canary yellow Fresco
she later on send you a drawing of a speech bubble from a Lame duck
saying sorry that it had fucked it up
you laughed for hours
putted stick-on labels to your foreheads
and played weird games with your pets

one night you were drinking cold beverages
and you accidentally touched her amber skin
seismic tremors surged through both bodies
it was all just notions that turned into emotions
but it was still something special, something rare and unique
something between only her and you
hand in hand
you ventured off
in an attempt to seek the epicentre of your arousal
and you arrived by the shore
with
a fig, a fin and a fib in the filter tip

in her mouth
in your lungs
in her veins
and in your brain
